Tim is
currently employed as a Systems Programmer for a Bay Area software
company.
He
has a variety of professional certifications including Microsoft,
Unix, Novell & Linux operating systems.
He has received professional training in the Perl, Visual Basic
and C++ programming languages. He has also received advanced
training on a variety of Microsoft technologies directly from
internal Microsoft personnel including in some cases the actual
developers and engineers of the products in question.
While
working in a Technology Management position with the world’s
largest private IS division, he was a founding member of a Perl
standards group and also served as a Y2K coordinator for Global
Messaging & Faxing, a member of the Technology Architecture
Group and a member of the NT Stabilization Committee (with numerous
Microsoft Knowledge Base articles to his credit).
He
is also a major FreeBSD enthusiast and has been using Open Source
software for over 10 years. He
recalls when “the” Linux distribution consisted of two 1.44mb
floppies.
Tim
Provencio is also a Microsoft DirectAccess Partner and
Microsoft SiteBuilder Network member.
